Examples of common positional mistakes - Seat leaning backwards

  • This causes too much weight at the base of the cantle at the back of the saddle.

  • This in turn causes the horse to invert therefore it is unable to engage it’s hind legs and come through

  • This will also  prevent it from carrying you through it’s core, under the saddle

  • You will be unbalanced and your legs will be further forward than they should be

  • You will be pulling back on the contact so the horse is unable to move forward in a rhythm

  • To correct this sit tall, keep your weight even in your stirrups and relax through your shoulders and chest
