A good weekend with all three horses doing very nice double clears..............in the sun!

This weekend was also interspersed with celebrations for my 30th Birthday - It was lovely, with no actual competing to do on the Saturday, that we were able to get off site and go to the Beach.

Ballycoog Breaker Boy (4*S) did a good test but we fluffed a change which was costly as they are double points in that test, but the rest of his work was good. He then did a great show jumping round and accurate cross country round which was planned to have some time penalties.

The Partner (4*) did a good test for him and great to have his show jumping back on form following Thoresby and he just felt mega on the cross country track.

Camee de Muze's dressage didn't go according to plan - this was his first stay away and he was a touch over excited. However, he more than made up for it with his excellent jumping both sj and xc.

Also, Well done to Marianna Sawyer, who completed her first 3* with a great XC round.

Next outing at Kelsall with the youngsters and then 7 rides at Cirencester over the following weekend.

A big thank you to Hannah Cole for the fab photos as always.

A civilised time leaving the yard to drive to Norton Disney with Cullion Womanizer and Mackenzy. This was our first trip in our Owens 3.5Ton and what a difference it makes to the journey!

It was a VERY windy day, but pretty much dry so we were all happy and the ground had dried well since Friday.

Cullion Womanizer did some great trot work but having got spooked in the canter work decided to carry this through for the rest of the test!! He then did the same in the Show Jumping but again there was some good jumps also!. I was really pleased with him in the xc despite a stop at a step down which in all honesty he hasn't seen recently, as we haven't managed to get out enough xc training - can't think why!!!

Mackenzy was his normal consistent self - very good dressage with one "scoot" and then a lovely Clear SJ round - probably his best and a lovely steady XC finishing in 3rd place!

Next up is Burhham Market with the 4 big boys - in the 3* and 4* - hoping for a dry few days!

Then off to Kelsall.

Gavin Scofield
Role:
Osteopath,

Gavin is an internationally renowned Equine Osteopath, who has been in full time Equine practice for over twenty years . Gavin has worked with Will for about 15 years, since Will was still riding ponies! Gavin has refined and developed Osteopathic technique to develop a unique way of working which has pushed the boundaries of what is possible therapeutically, allowing the patient’s body to achieve greater benefits from manual medicine. This subtle approach is specifically tailored to work with the innate homeostatic /self correcting reflexes within the body, including the postural centres of the brain. By appropriately stimulating these areas, on many levels, it is possible to help the equine FUNDAMENTALLY change patterns of tension within their muscular-skeletal system. This allows not just a release of tensions, but a PERMANENT change in postural balance, improving biomechanical function, especially movement. This improved postural balance can not only optimise the equine’s movement potential but has also been seen to help improve physiological function and psychological issues.
