Examples of common position mistakes - Straight arms
Straight arms block the horse therefore the horse becomes inverted.
This stops the horse’s natural gait.
This means they lose their rhythm and suppleness.
They are unable to engage their hind legs correctly and step through from behind
If your arms are straight you will be tight across the chest and shoulders
This will follow through down your back therefore causing restriction in your seat
To correct this Sit tall and relax but still use your core, keep your weight equal in your stirrups.
Make sure your reins are the correct length for you to be able to keep elasticity in your elbows to follow the movement of the horse.
And your hands should be just in front of the wither (by your neck strap if you are wearing one)
